Take Your Senate Back
After 110 years of uninterrupted Democrat rule of the State Senate, North Carolinians are ready for a political change.
Did you know Republicans have not controlled the State Senate since 1896 when a Populist and Republican coalition held 42 of the 50 seats in the Senate? From 1896 on, the Democrats held solid majorities in the State Senate. In 1974, Senator Don Kincaid (R-Caldwell) was the only Republican member of the State Senate.
What do North Carolinians have to show for this uninterrupted Democrat rule?
In recent years, Democrat leadership has given North Carolina annual billion dollar tax increases, a floundering public school system, huge growth in wasteful spending, plant closings and job losses, ever higher health care costs, and disgraceful scandals. Democrat policies and ethical shortcomings have undermined confidence in our State’s government.
The 20 members of the Republican Senate Caucus are committed to restoring North Carolina’s proper role as a leader, not only in the South, but in the nation as well. The first place to start is to renew faith in State government. We believe that, with Republican Leadership, the State Senate will lead the way in making North Carolina a better place to live, work and raise our families.
It’s your NC Senate. It’s time to take it back.
