Positive polling for Senate Republicans

Two recently released polls by the Carolina Strategy Group find Republican challengers well positioned to knock off incumbent Democrats.

In State Senate District 24 (Alamance and Caswell Counties) Rick Gunn leads his rematch against Tony Foriest by a 48 – 38 margin.

In State Senate District 5 (Wayne, Pitt and Greene Counties) Louis Pate narrowly trails Democrat incumbent Don Davis by a 42 – 40 margin.

Further evidence of Republican momentum can be found in the latest statewide PPP poll showing North Carolinians intend to vote for Republicans over Democrats for State Legislature by a 45 – 42 margin.
