More Positive Polling for Republican Senate Candidates

Two new polls conducted for the Civitas Institute by Survey USA, one of the country’s leading non-partisan polling firms, show Republicans well positioned to win two more seats currently held by Democrats.

In District 9, which includes all of New Hanover County, Republican Thom Goolsby leads Democrat Jim Leutze 55 to 37.

In District 10, which includes all of Sampson, Duplin, and Lenoir County, Republican Brent Jackson, one of North Carolina’s most successful agribusinessmen, is well positioned for the November election.  He  trails the Democrat, long time Sampson County District Attorney Dewey Hudson, 44 to 36.

As more becomes known about Dewey Hudson’s involvement in the Mike Easley Corruption Scandal, expect Hudson to fall in the polls.
