John Aneralla, Candidate for NC Senate District 40
John Aneralla is running for the NC Senate in District 40, which includes Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, and the University area of North Mecklenburg County. This is John’s first time running for elected office. John has been very active in many campaigns over the past 10 years including serving as Mecklenburg County GOP and 9th Congressional District Chairman.
John is running to bring jobs back to North Carolina by lowering taxes, cutting wasteful spending and providing common sense solutions that bring positive results. He believes government does not create jobs but it can create the conditions that enable all businesses to grow and prosper.
These conditions can be fashioned by instituting a tax moratorium on NC manufactured goods, protecting NC’s “right to work” status, eliminating burdensome government regulations, reducing & flattening the corporate, income and sales tax rates and abolishing all state capital gains and interest income taxes .
He also believes NC must reduce the influence and size of government through privatization of non-core state functions, auditing all state agencies and programs, full transparency in the budgeting process and ensuring a public vote on state debt.
Finally, education must be improved at all levels in NC in order to prepare our students for the next generation of jobs. The state must continue to invest in its community college and university system while also offering a vocational education track in the high schools. He believes in a bottom-up approach to education by empowering teachers and school leaders to make decisions not bureaucrats Raleigh. He also supports NC lifting the cap off Charter schools in order to increase competition and choice for students.

- Active in coaching, leading & organizing youth sports in North Mecklenburg.
