In these tough economic times it is government’s DUTY to promote job growth and economic success. Recently an online article was posted by CNN Money which classified 22 cities in America which are in danger of a double dip recession. How did we get here? There has been a lack of accountability, irrational budget priorities and wasteful spending. We remain the 41st highest taxed state in the nation and have potentially been left with a 3 billion dollar deficit. We have seen government spending increase 85% over the past 30 years and more recently the Democrats are pushing to tax services in North Carolina. In this economic environment, North Carolina and New Hanover County need a major change in fiscal policy to effectively compete.

It’s time we take back our state. It’s time to take action. As your next State Senator, I will eliminate wasteful spending, cut taxes and create jobs. I will fully support a Taxpayer Bill of Rights. Taking these proactive steps will help North Carolinians succeed economically and put our state on a path for a brighter future.
